Setting Almagest Preferences
Almagest gives users the ability to customize several features
through preference settings. You can change your prefences via the My Preferences menu option.
After choosing your personal
preferences, you must click the Update
button to first commit the settings to the system, and then click
the Close button to close the window.
The preference settings are as follows:
Search Results
Search Results
controls the display of the Search Summary page.
Search Summary Page
By default, the Search Summary page will
display, even when only a single
item is found for a particular search.
To limit the display of the Search
Summary page to only searches that result in more than one match,
select the Skip search summary if just
one item found option.
Show '50' Images at
a time on Image List page
Use this option to control the number of images
that display on the Image Search Result page after initiating
a data search. By default, 50 images display.
Editing
Edit Mode
Edit mode is a preference setting that applies to editors, and it
controls the availablility of editing tools in
the projects for which they are an editor. By default, Edit
Mode is enabled or On.
Setting Edit Mode to On
results in the following page display changes (ONLY if you have editing rights in the current project):
- Direct access to editing features from the Image Search
Result list, or any image/object list, is made available by
way of an Edit icon on the page.
- New, Edit, Link and Delete editing buttons, link icons,
and a complete list of 'commonly linked' attributes appear
on the image/object display page.
- When performing searches for data, the button Search all
of Almagest is provided on the Search page, and allows editors
to search across projects for data.
Setting Edit Mode to Off
disables the display features listed above, allowing editors to view pages as a regular user would.
